I'm used to the Barcelona Pride Parade, 

or, better putting it, both of them. Berlin is no different 

Yes, Berlin has a march that acts as a protest

against discrimination and in favor of LGBTQ rights, 

 a remembrance to the people who fought for our liberty of expression at Christopher Street.

Then it also has the party that sells gay rights 

has a capitalistic approach to the image of how gay people should behave

in terms of making them another target for consumer society.

Even though both of them defend liberty and expression, 

I think they are very opposite.

That's why some friends here in Berlin organized 

a protest that very cleverly infiltrated the mainstream CSD

 with signs that read:

"War in Afghanistan, Party in Berlin"

"Poverty is Sexy"

" Capitalize on Gay rights!"

"To poor to be gay"

 A Really fun afternoon with kinky divas

From goths, to slaves, from girly boys to fabulous freaks

From Anonymous (hackers) to The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (Queer Nuns)

Amanda Fucking Palmer @ Platoon Berlin

I love it when synchronicity 

makes us do things that turn out to be

life's most memorable moments.

This time I was at a friends house

checking twitter in the hopes of finding a way 

to get to the sold out concert of the mythical 

Amanda Fucking Palmer.

Lucky for us, they needed a dress form 

to include in the art show in Berlin.

So off we were through the city 

carrying a mannequin all the way to 

Platoon Kunsthalle.

After her recent success with her Kickstarter campaign 

that raised over ONE MILLION dollars

for her new album, exhibition, artbook.

In the company of

the Grand Theft Orchestra, 

we were delighted with 

one of the best concerts of my life.

Check out the pics (and crappy videos) bellow to understand

how an artist can be the channel of inspiration

and literally offer her body to her fans, 

allowing them to give back the love 

that she pours out with her

amazingly sincere words

and stunning voice.
