Guimarães Noc Noc

As some of you might know,
my hometown Guimarães, in Portugal,
Is going to be the European Capital of Culture in 2012.

And what does it mean ?
It means that the city is getting millions in funding
but strangely, none of the people I talked to, from Guimarães,
seem to know what is going to happen neither have been invited to participate
as an artist, curator, art gallery ...

But rest assured, some friends decided to
take matters into their own hands
and started a movement, based on mutual cooperation
 taking back their city with their own project called Noc Noc.
By taking back, I mean they are opening the doors to their private homes, studios, galleries
for a hole day, where you can walk around the city
 and simply knock on the doors that are marked in a map.

Sort of an Art Scavenger Hunt with performances, theater,
music, sculptures, paintings, wine, friends and
Lots of Love

It's my party and I'll fuck who I wan't to ....

 Well, where do I start?

In an attempt to decentralize queer culture and sexual freedom, 

some of my friends here in Barcelona decided to organize the first

SEXUAL DESOBEDIENCE CONGRESS

in a squat center called La Nau in Castellon de la Plana.

This was so we could gather alternative thinkers outside big cities 

like Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao ...

transforming that space into a familiar safe haven

so that people would feel comfortable to share their experiences and 

allow themselves to try out the many alternative sexual expressions.

Along with workshops on how to do cuts with a scalpel on your partner, 

how to utilize needles to liberate your libido,

concerts and performances where androgenous/trans/feminist/freaks 

 experimented with their bodies and expanded their confort zone

by having public sex and inviting others to join them.

There were people distributing their Curriculums Vitae,

where they discribed their sexual area of expertize, 

witch you could request to work for you in exchange for a beer or a line.

In two of the shows, performers asked for audience participation

for a collective golden shower and interactive fisting session !

It was my birthday the 30th of October, 

so I got the best birthday party EVER !!!
