ChoCho
Chocho is Japanese for butterfly,
and Portuguese for vagina,
so I thought it would be fitted for my first sculpture
made with 52 Origamis made out of 80's porno mags.

Guimarães Noc Noc 2012
For the second time, Noc Noc
a festival dedicated to art on all fields comes to life in my hometown
Guimarães, this year's European Capital of Culture.
From photography to film, theater, dance, performance art
all are welcome to this informal cultural intervention.
The 5, 6 and 7th of October,
you are invited to wander through the city with a special map and
knock on the door of private houses, associations, shops, etc.
and discover a universe of 500 artists, 320 projects
located in 70 different spaces, allowing you to discover the city
from a very unusual perspective.
This year Japan is our guest of honor
and you can see the work of around 25 invited artists.
This year, my photography retrospective
is going to be shown at number 61 on the map.
Here are a couple of the postcards I made
to help promote this festival that is created/coordinated
with love instead of money .

Guimarães Noc Noc
33
"Mom, can my friends come over?"
This weekend the 1st and 2nd of October
in my glorious hometown
Guimarães, in Portugal,
there is a show that takes place
in private houses, cafes, stores and institutions.
Random people who got together
and agreed to host in their homes
concerts in the kitchen,
exhibitions in the hallways,
screenings in the bathrooms,
a performance pieces that can happen spontaneously
in every corner of the art treasure map.
I have a screening of a short retrospective
of about 7 minutes,
designed to heal and provoke.
Bellow are two postcards that
I made for this wonderful show.
Who's there?
"It's Strangelfreak,Bitches!"

Guimarães Noc Noc
As some of you might know,
my hometown Guimarães, in Portugal,
Is going to be the European Capital of Culture in 2012.
And what does it mean ?
It means that the city is getting millions in funding
but strangely, none of the people I talked to, from Guimarães,
seem to know what is going to happen neither have been invited to participate
as an artist, curator, art gallery ...
But rest assured, some friends decided to
take matters into their own hands
and started a movement, based on mutual cooperation
taking back their city with their own project called Noc Noc.
By taking back, I mean they are opening the doors to their private homes, studios, galleries
for a hole day, where you can walk around the city
and simply knock on the doors that are marked in a map.
Sort of an Art Scavenger Hunt with performances, theater,
music, sculptures, paintings, wine, friends and
Lots of Love
here is my small contribution
(that already got the administrator of the group banned from Facebook for improper content)
Pedro, I owe you one !
